Diploma In Gynaecology, Obstetrics & Fartility (DGOF) (propose)

Introduction:

Need of gynaecologist for 160 million population in Bangladesh is acute and also in South East Asian Countries- hence high maternal & infant mortality rate. Pre-natal, natal, post natal, & Infertility services to the grass route level is a crying need of the society. To meet the demand of the population it is not possible for the Government alone. Bangladesh Institute of Medical Science (BIMS) is extending her hands in private sector to produce more & more specialist in this field.

Objectives:

1. To create more specialist
2. To maintain International standard
3. To render services to the door step
4. To reduce maternal & infant mortality rate

 
Course & Curriculum:

It is a full one year course. Students have to spend 2310 hours in both theoretical & hospital duty in addition to library & home work. It is a semester system course. The enter course have been divided into six semester. Subjects for each semester is as follows:

The program contains a total of 3O (thirty) credit points from theoretical and hospital training.

Pre requisite:

MBBS or equivalent degree Recognized by BMDC
Must qualified in admission test Age below 40 yrs

Preference will be given to the candidate experienced in Gynae,Obs, Fertility & Ultrasonology

Session:

Winter session   January    Last date of admission    15 th December

Class Schedule:

Theoretical     Friday, Saturday, Sunday
   Time: 8.0 am. to 1.0 pm Friday
   9.0 am to 2.0 pm Saturday & Sunday

Students have to attend three days a week in theoretical & hospital duty. Each student will be assigned with a topic for dissertation. To standardize the course Infertility & Ultrasonology have been added. Candidate has to perform 50 major & 50 minor operation in his/ her own hand. Students have to present cases in every week & have to appear weekly examination. A percentage of weekly marks will be added in final examination. Attendance in class should be at list 80%.

Examination 31st December for    
Total marks of examination    1500
Qualifying marks    60%

After the end of each term candidate will have to appear both written & viva examination. Only successful candidate will be allowed to attend the next term class. If any candidate fail in term examination he/she can continue the next term but have to appear the examination for both terms. Examination protocol for semester examination.

 
Financial Involvement:

Total course fee Taka – 2 Lac (Two Lacs) for national candidate.
Total course fee 5,500 USD for foreign candidate


Payment Option:

50% at the time of admission.
Rest 50% in two equal installment.
Candidate have to bear registration fee, admit card fee & others as per rule of the board.
